O'o

There is an undeniable affinity between O’o and its ornithological namesake, the Ō’Ō — a bird once native to Hawaii, renowned for the melody of its song and its mysterious harmonies. Though the bird has sadly vanished, the music of O’o carries its spirit forward, blending fragility and resonance into something entirely alive.

The duo, composed of Victoria Suter and Mathieu Daubigné — childhood friends turned artistic partners — began their journey in Barcelona, where they lived for several years and began shaping their sonic identity. Their early EP Spells was self-produced thanks to a young talent grant from the Primavera Sound festival in Barcelona, and later re-released by InFiné in 2023, marking the start of a long-term collaboration with the label.

Their debut album, Touche (2022), introduced their unique blend of experimental pop, electronica, and chanson, sung in both French and English. Critics and audiences alike were drawn to their vocal inventiveness, meticulous production, and the uncanny balance they strike between sophistication and playfulness — evoking the lyrical intensity of Kate Bush, the dreamlike textures of Björk, and the rhythmic ease of Little Dragon.

Their second album, Songs of Wishes and Bones (2024), was composed in the secluded calm of southwestern France, where they took refuge in a village nestled among pine forests and open fields. In this intimate environment, they crafted a collection of songs that traverse shadow and light, desire and introspection — an organic, poetic universe shaped as much by landscape as emotion.

The journey continues with More Wishes, Less Bones, a companion release to their second album, due out on September 12, 2025. This new chapter expands the duo’s sonic palette while staying true to their singular voice. Three tracks have already been unveiled — La Mésange, Rêverie, and Maybe — offering a glimpse into a more open, melodic and subtly danceable side of their world, without ever losing the finesse and imagination that define their music.
