With La Baleine et le Musicien (Edit), released on April 14, 2026, Rone opens a new chapter ahead of his June album Megaptera. “La Baleine et le Musicien” (“The Whale and the Musician”) is the title of the film project by Valentin Paoli, a reference to La Fontaine’s fable tradition, which sparked Rone’s entire impulse for this new album.
The track revisits a central piece of the forthcoming album in a refined version. Built on synths, bass, and a steady pulse, it blends field recordings with minimal melody, an immersive return where sound design meets narrative, like a breath held beneath the surface.
Since 2007, French producer and composer Rone has built a career defined by constant experimentation across disciplines, from five solo albums and international tours to collaborations with dance, cinema, and orchestral music.
Megaptera, out on June 16, 2026, was largely composed at sea off Brittany and Reunion Island, exploring an almost unreal proposition: attempting to resonate with whales through music. The 15-track album extends this inquiry into new deep-sea soundscapes, where reduction and listening reshape electronic music.
