O’o shares new album ‘Songs of Wishes and Bones’

French duo O’o unveils new album ‘Songs of Wishes and Bones’ → Stream / Order

O’o ‘s much awaited album “Songs of Wishes and Bones” drops today via InFiné. This album marks an abundance of newly found inspiration for the band. For the albums preparation, the duo; Mathieu Daubigné and Victoria Suter has found solace in the quaint village of Mézin in southwestern France. Victoria reflects: “We left Barcelona to live in the middle of nowhere in the countryside, and we made this record while being very isolated. We lived together for almost a year in a family house in a tiny village and were immersed in nature. It became our biggest source of inspiration,”

The name of the album holds significance as to showing how contrast and duality inspires the band. The plays on contrasts become more perceptible as you listen to the songs, which indeed speak of life and death, nature and artifice, past and present, and light and darkness, as for instance in the track ‘Le jour et la nuit’. These narratives are seen through the keen eye of chanteuse and lyricist Victoria Suter and complemented by the electronic sorcery of her musical partner, Mathieu Daubigné. Throughout the record, it’s the environment that informs the electronic soundscapes, which Mathieu writes in direct dialogue with Victoria’s words. Her use of personification hints at wider themes, with tales that are absorbing, moving, and sometimes wickedly funny.

Suter’s voice, often compared to icons like Kate Bush and Björk, paired with Mathieu Daubigné’s precise production, creates a captivating soundscape. Promoted by the French label InFiné, the campaign targets major French and global radio stations such as France Inter and FIP, amplified by dynamic social media campaigns, targeted ads, and compelling live performances.
