FRÀNÇOIS & THE ATLAS MOUNTAINS
Existing within the independent music scene for over ten years, Frànçois & The Atlas Mountains has created a sound that is so unmistakably his. In 2003 Frànçois settled in the UK, in the port city of Bristol where he brushed shoulders with major figures of the freak folk scene, like Movietone and Panda Bear, who inspired his DIY approach. In 2011, Frànçois was the first French artist to be signed to the iconic British label Domino Records whose roster includes artists like Arctic Monkeys, Cat Power, and Franz Ferdinand. Today, he opens a new chapter with InFiné, being the label’s latest signature.
Drawing from his memory, experiences and inner world, Francois has nurtured his music with earnestness and sophistication. Fragility, modesty, delicacy… Frànçois’ voice evokes illustrious contemporaries, from Devendra Banhart to Vincent Gallo, whose vocal inflections sometimes echo behind the uniquely French timbre. His sixth studio album Âge Fleuve, which will be released on 31/01, stands as a body of work that attests to what makes his music so unique.
LÉONIE PERNET
Making her first appearances in the electronic scene, it quickly became apparent that Léonie Pernet was destined for more, releasing her debut solo record in 2018, working on film scores and touring the world. Over the course of the years, the singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist has composed and performed an array of songs that were moving as much as they were poetic. Her upcoming album tackles the themes of revolt, togetherness which is told through the lens of poetic telling, in pure Léonie Pernet fashion. The first single of the album “Réparer Le Monde” asks a simple yet profound question: “Is it our responsibility to repair a bit of the world?”
