With “L’Heure du loup (Edit)”, French composer and producer Arandel shifts the Baroque language into a resolutely contemporary electronic form.

Born from an improvisation on a positive organ, the track unfolds between harpsichord, strings and winds, analogue synthesizers, spectral choirs and the syncopated drums of Louis Delorme. Acoustic timbres gradually emerge and merge into electronics, shaping a singular baroque-progressive soundscape at the crossroads of chamber music and experimental electronica.

“L’Heure du Loup” refers to the darkest hours before dawn, when sleep is deepest and dreams are most intense. The track inhabits this in-between space between night and day, sleep and waking, presence and disappearance.

Marina Dard captures this duality in the music video, created in 2D animation around the figure of the wolf. Its visual language is built around two shades deep black and immaculate white which echo one another across both the characters and the setting, as if form and background had become a single material.

Three figures cross the video: the wolf, the bird and a faceless woman, moving through the images to the rhythm of a dark journey that draws the listener in and never lets go.
