Gaspar Claus presents his new single “Désir des astres”. Drawing from contemporary classical, cinematic ambient and electroacoustic music, the track unfolds through low-end pulses, processed resonances and shifting textures.
This theme comes from music originally written for a documentary. It was ultimately not selected: the cello often carries a gentle, melancholic quality that is characteristic of it, and this weighed the film down somewhat. Gaspar Claus therefore unearthed it, reworked it, and pushed it towards an almost epic boldness, giving new scope to this initially discarded material.
The title of the piece also plays with the etymology of the word “désir”, which shares the same root as the word “sidéral”, placing the track in a resonance that is both intimate and cosmic.
