“I first met Mary Lattimore at a party in an alley in Glassell Park through a mutual friend Meara O Reilly. Mary and I became fast friends. My first collaboration with Mary and Julianna happened soon after. In 2018, I was directing a TV show called The Shivering Truth. Julianna and Mary very kindly recorded a cover of Long Lankin for the end credits of an episode called Ogled Inklings.

For the cover image they wanted something very moody and forest themed with a classic painted/illustrated sense to it. I proceeded to make a bunch of sketches ! Sketches of Mary and Julianna in different fantastical atmospheres. We narrowed it down to our fave and that’s the one I painted. Mary and Julianna also mentioned that they were dreaming of having paper dolls of themselves inside the record. I could not resist doing this.

It was very fun to include “deep cuts” in the paper dolls with every animal, object, outfit having a special meaning behind it. There’s a deep substantive boldness in including real life passions and cherished items in your presentation as an artist. The paper dolls displaying real distinct heirlooms brings a special vulnerability to the art. I’m so proud of this work, I still can’t believe I got to do it. Mary and Julianna blow my mind. I am in utter awe of the music they make.”
