Following Philip Glass: The Complete Piano Etudes, released in 2025, Vanessa Wagner hands the baton to a new generation of composers and producers from the international electronic and experimental scene, who reinterpret four of Philip Glass’s twenty Piano Etudes.
With this EP from InFiné’s “Versions” series, Glass’s music, which resonates deeply within the world of contemporary electronic music, is revisited through four radically different interpretations. Aho Ssan and Carmen Villain reinterpret Etude No. 20, respectively transforming it through a web of sound manipulations and a more snowy, crystalline approach. Tauceti offers a version of Etude No. 2, blending melancholic arpeggios with visceral pulses, while Cucina Povera transforms Etude No. 10 through her vocal experiments and loops.
Released in 2025, Philip Glass: The Complete Piano Etudes received widespread critical acclaim in France and internationally, earning Vanessa Wagner a nomination at the Victoires de la Musique Classique. With Philip Glass: Piano Etudes – Versions, InFiné continues Wagner’s work around Philip Glass’s Piano Etudes, opening up a new electronic and experimental territory.
