Vanessa Wagner announces new EP « Philip Glass: Piano Etudes Versions » with a new single

Vanessa Wagner announces a new EP with the first extrait Etudes No. 2 (Tauceti Version) Listen

Few have ventured to record Philip Glass’s twenty piano études in their entirety. Even fewer have attempted to remix them.

One year after the release of Vanessa Wagner’s Philip Glass: The Complete Piano Etudes, Piano Etude Versions opens a new chapter in her ongoing dialogue with the composer. Due October 1 on InFiné, the EP brings together four distinctive voices from today’s experimental electronic scene — Aho Ssan, Carmen Villain, Tauceti and Cucina Povera — each invited to radically reinterpret Wagner’s recordings.

The first extrait of the EP comes from Tauceti’s reinterpretation of Etude No. 2 where she takes the pastoral and nostalgic character of Glass’s composition into darker, more visceral territory.

Lyon-based artist Tauceti has emerged as a distinctive talent on the contemporary techno-ambient scene. As a producer, she explores the more obscure territories of lustrous techno and hazy ambient, with releases on Denovali and work drawing on her Middle Eastern and Asian heritage. Equally at home behind the decks, her DJ sets reflect the immersive, atmospheric quality of her productions.
